Ukraine. Media: T-72B tanks donated by Morocco. They are modernized in the Czech Republic

Ukraine will receive about 20 T-72B tanks from Morocco. They are currently being modernized in the Czech Republic, the Ukrinform agency reported on Monday for the Algerian portal Menadefense.

Tank figures are estimates as exact information has not been released. The government in Rabat pledged to assist Kiev during the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Support Ukraineorganized on April 26, 2022 at the Ramstein base in Germany.

Morocco and Tunisia were the only North African countries that took part in these talks at the time, Ukrinform said.

According to the Ukrainian agency and service Menadefense, the Moroccan army currently has 148 T-72 tanks, 136 T-72B and 12 T-72BK machines. The tanks were purchased on Belarus in 1999-2000.

According to the media, tanks for Ukrainians sent from Rabat are being modernized in the Czech Republic at Excalibur Army facilities.

It has been repairing military equipment destined for Kiev for months. From these factories, not only T-72 tanks are delivered to Ukraine, but also artillery systems, rocket launchers and infantry fighting vehicles.
