Ukraine. Ukrainian drones attacked eight regions in Russia. Reports of damage to energy facilities

Ukraine carried out a drone attack on targets on Russian territory at night, the UkraiƄska Pravda portal reported, citing sources in the Ukrainian services and army. The media reports on a fire at a fuel facility in the Smolensk Oblast in western Russia.

“On the night of April 19-20, Ukrainian drones attacked Russian territory, this is a joint operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR), the Security Service of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces,” writes Ukrainska Pravda. This was confirmed by the portal's sources at HUR and SBU.

Dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles were used in the attack.

Ukrainian drones attacked targets in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Smolensk, Ryazan, Kaluga and Moscow regions. The target of the attacks was the energy infrastructure that powers the Russian arms industry.

According to Ukrainian Pravda sources, at least three power stations and a fuel base were hit.

Russians about damage to energy facilities

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported that 50 Ukrainian drones attacking targets in Russia were shot down or disabled overnight.

Local authorities in Russia confirmed, among others: damage to energy facilities in the Bryansk and Kaluga regions, as well as a fire in a fuel tank in the Smolensk region.

The governor of the region, Vasily Anokhin, announced on Telegram that Ukrainian drones attacking the Smolensk region were shot down and the fire was caused by falling shrapnel.
