An indictment against actor Antoni K. was filed with the court. According to the prosecutor’s office, the man was accused of evading paying maintenance to his son and wife.
The indictment against Antoni K. was filed with the District Court for Warsaw-Wola at the end of June by the Warsaw-Wola District Prosecutor’s Office. – Antoni K. was accused of evading the performance of the maintenance obligation for his minor son and wife in the period from June 2022 to January 2023 (they are in the process of divorce – PAP), as determined by the decision of the District Court in Warsaw, where the total arrears amounted to at least three monthly benefits – informed the Polish Press Agency spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, prosecutor Szymon Banna.
“The suspect has pleaded not guilty to the alleged act and has given explanations,” the prosecutor added.
Failure to pay maintenance is punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to one year.
Accused of driving under the influence of marijuana
This is not the only allegation for which the famous actor will answer in court. In mid-February 2023, K. was detained in Warsaw’s Wola district. – The driver of the Audi was tested for alcohol. At the end of May 2023, the Warsaw-Wola District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw filed an indictment against Antoni K.. for driving while under the influence of marijuana. – He was accused of driving a passenger car while intoxicated while under the influence of a psychotropic substance – delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (marijuana) – informed prosecutor Szymon Banna from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.
– The toxicological opinion, obtained during the preparatory proceedings at the request of the prosecutor’s office, clearly confirms that the defendant was under the influence of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol at the time of driving, which can be compared to the state of intoxication caused by alcohol consumption – explained the prosecutor.
For driving while under the influence of marijuana, the actor is liable to a fine, restriction of liberty or up to two years in prison, as well as a mandatory driving ban for at least three years. – In addition, in the event of a conviction, Antoni K. will be required to pay a benefit to the Victims’ Assistance and Post-Penitentiary Assistance Fund in the amount of at least PLN 5,000 – said prosecutor Szymon Banna.
Actor’s Statement
The actor referred to the event by publishing a statement on his Instagram account. “The arrest took place around 4 p.m. at 16 Karolkowa Street, right after I left my apartment for Asia (ex-wife – ed.) to meet my son,” he wrote.
“Officers, due to the notification received that at this time and in this place I will appear under the influence of illegal substances, they waited for me near my place of residence. I was detained for inspection, the alcohol test showed that I was sober, but the drug test detected THC, which I support my treatment and which I used the previous evening” – he said.
He said a blood test had been done and he was waiting for the results. “In the case of regular use of medical marijuana, even in small amounts, the concentration may persist even though I was not using cannabis on the day of arrest,” he argued.
He stated that he “doesn’t use drugs”. “What did today’s tests show, so please stop the slander. In addition, I did not celebrate this year’s birthday in any Warsaw club,” the actor said.
