A man driving a private ambulance was arrested on Friday in Prymasa Tysiąclecia Avenue. As tvnwarszawa.pl reporter Artur Węgrzynowicz found out, the driver was not only under the influence of drugs and had them with him, but also drove the car despite court driving bans.
According to Artur Węgrzynowicz's findings, it is a private medical transport driver. The police were supposed to pay attention to his strange behavior. There was a suspicion that he was driving after taking drugs.
He drove despite court bans
We asked the spokeswoman of the Warsaw District Police Headquarters, 4th Superintendent Marta Sulowska, about the incident. As she indicated, on that day, police officers from the Patrol and Intervention Department from Bemowo determined that the man driving the Ford could drive despite active court driving bans.
– The officers noticed this vehicle and checked it. It was confirmed that the driver had three court driving bans. A psychotropic substance was found in the car. The police also determined that the man was wanted because he was serving a prison sentence for an offense under Article 270 of the Penal Code (forgery of documents – ed.). Further inspection showed that he was driving under the influence of drugs, the spokeswoman told us.
She added that after collecting the evidence, the man was charged with three charges: violating court driving bans, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of drugs. – This may result in a penalty of up to five years' imprisonment – she concluded.
The man was taken to prison.
