Law and Justice – Sovereign Poland. Tensions in the camp of the United Right. Cezary Tomczyk and Paulina Hennig-Kloska

Law and Justice tried to recall the deputies of Sovereign Poland on Tuesday – this is the new name of Solidarna Polska, the party Zbigniew Ziobro – from the parliamentary justice committee and human rights and elect four PiS deputies in their place. The following were to be recalled: Mariusz Gosek, Mariusz Kałużny, Piotr Sak and Tadeusz Woźniak. They were to be replaced by: Waldemar Andzel, Zbigniew Babalski, Anna Paluch and Krzysztof Sobolewski. However, the proposal did not pass the vote.

The case is related to the conflict in the Constitutional Tribunal regarding the term of office of president Julia Przyłębska. It makes it impossible for the full bench to assemble and issue a decision on the amendment to the law on the Supreme Court, which – according to the government – would release funds from the National Reconstruction Plan. PiS wants to deal with the problem with a law reducing the minimum number of judges of the full bench of the Constitutional Tribunal. The problem is that the project must go through the Justice and Human Rights Committee, which includes members of Sovereign Poland who oppose this solution.

They discussed the situation inside the government camp Cezary Tomczyk from the Civic Coalition and Paulina Hennig-Kloska, chairwoman of the Polish 2050 circle.

– Zbigniew Ziobro knows that he will not survive in the opposition without having a club that gives participation in the media, (which) can submit certain bills and so on – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska.

– On the other hand (it would be – ed.) without the subsidy, because it will lose financial resources from Polish forests, it will lose financial resources from the Justice Fund and other places from which it lives. And that is what Sovereign Poland is really fighting for today. It is known that Kaczyński does not want to give them that, continued the MP.

– I can assure you that we, as Poland 2050, will not participate in any projects that are intended to lead to manual control of either the Constitutional Tribunal or the work of the justice committee. Because this vote was supposed to manually control disputes within the government team – she said.

According to Cezary Tomczyk, Zbigniew Ziobro’s party “is not just a fight for a place in one or the other ministry, although for them it is a matter of life and death.”

– The fight for Kaczyński’s inheritance continues here. It seems that Ziobro has made a decision that he will start this fight. Someone will succeed Kaczyński in the right-wing camp. I understand that Ziobro thinks it could be him – said Tomczyk.

The guests also discussed the fact that Poland still has not received funds for National Reconstruction Plan.

– There’s a lot of money on the table. This is a paradox, so far unknown in Europe – Poland is the only country in Europe that acts to the detriment of its citizens by blocking money for its own state. this has not happened yet – said Tomczyk.

– The worst thing is that these 160 billion zlotys are waiting to enter our country on pallets in a wide stream – said the KO MP. In his opinion, the fact that we still do not have the money that was supposed to be used to rebuild the economy after the COVID-19 pandemic is a “curiosity not seen on any scale in any country”.

Paulina Hennig-Kloska said that “no more unconstitutional laws that will become the subject of a bargain between Ziobrists and Kaczys will not unblock EU funds.”

– The opposition will release this money very quickly, because we will meet the milestones, moreover, accepted by both parties – she added.
