Police officers from Łódź detained a 41-year-old man suspected of stealing from toy stores. The man stored the stolen goods in the basement. As he explained, the thefts gave him an adrenaline rush, and he wanted to sell the goods online.

The man was detained on November 25 by security guards of one of the toy stores in Łódź. The 41-year-old was handed over to the police.

As reported by Sgt. pcs. Maksymilian Jasiak from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Łódź, the man admitted to committing several dozen thefts, mainly of toys from stores in Łódź and indicated the place where they were hidden.

– In the basement of a rented house in the Łódź-Górna district, law enforcement officers found and secured over 150 sets of blocks and other toys. The detained 41-year-old explained that the thefts gave him an adrenaline rush and he wanted to sell the goods online, the policeman said.

Not just toys

During the operation, it turned out that the detained 41-year-old was the perpetrator of the burglaries that took place in October, selected by investigators from the 7th Police Station in Łódź.

– He overcame the security of the lockers of one of the gyms in Łódź, and then stole clothes, cash, documents and ATM cards from them, which he later used to make payments. The 41-year-old was charged with theft and burglary. The court will decide the man’s fate, concluded Sgt. pcs. Maksymilian Jasiak from the Łódź police.
