Israeli ambassador to Poland Yakov Liwne “congratulated the Polish government on initiating the investigation”, referring to media reports suggesting links between the former president of Orlen Trading Switzerland and the terrorist organization Hezbollah. “We await the results of the investigation,” the diplomat wrote on social media.

“Hezbollah terrorists and the Iranian regime pose a huge threat to global security. I congratulate the Polish government on initiating an investigation into this serious matter. We await the results of the investigation,” wrote the Israeli ambassador to Poland on Tuesday in response to Prime Minister Donald Tusk's Tuesday entry.

Earlier, the head of the Polish government wrote that he had asked for a visit from the prosecutor general and the coordinator of the secret services “on a matter of key importance for state security: the billion-dollar loss and possible connections with Hezbollah of the former head of Orlen.” “Poles must know the truth. There is nothing to wait for!” – Tusk announced.

Orlen Trading Switzerland and suspected links with Hezbollah

In the first half of April this year, the Orlen concern reported a loss of approximately PLN 1.6 billion resulting from the actions of the previous management board of Orlen Trading Switzerland (OTS), a Swiss company belonging to the Orlen Group. These are advances paid to intermediaries in crude oil trading – the deliveries have not been made.

Onet reported that even before OTS was established, Orlen's security services predicted that it could be one big scam. Such comments were raised by the Control and Safety Office (BKiB) – a unit of the concern established to ensure the protection of the company's most important interests.

“Samer A., ​​from Lebanon, was to be employed as the president of Orlen Trading System. As he claims in internal BKiB documents, he is suspected of contacts with the terrorist organization Hezbollah, financed by Iran, and is additionally involved in trading oil from this country “- reported Onet.

According to the portal, after the official establishment of the OTS, the warning letter also reached the desks of the most important people in the country: the Prime Minister, ministers and heads of secret services.
