We are the largest aid provider to Ukraine and if we simply pull the plug, the effect that this could have on other countries and their ability to support Ukraine could be catastrophic. This will be a gift for Putin, a Christmas present, because he will get exactly what he wanted: Ukraine weakened, the West divided – said John Kirby.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was scheduled to speak at a closed briefing for US senators, which – as was speculated – was intended to convince parliamentarians to support Biden’s request to allocate funds of $106 billion to support Ukraine and Israelas well as for other security needs.
