Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old Nebraska boy whose body was found in a burning bonfire in Arizona. The late Parker League’s family say he may have been “targeted” because of an expensive watch he took with him on his travels. In addition, it was discovered that someone was using the teenager’s debit card.
The relatives of 18-year-old Parker League from Nebraska reported him missing on June 15. The high school graduate visited his friends in the town of Tempe near Phoenix, Arizona, on June 9, and planned to return home three days later. On June 12, a man’s body was found in a blazing bonfire in Bullfrog Canyon west of Tempe. As established by the authorities, it was the Parker League. His belongings were discovered in a house in Tempe, People magazine reported on Tuesday.
It was a “despicable killing”
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the teenager’s death. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that it was a “despicable killing”. However, the coroner has not yet released a cause of death for League.
The 20-year-old brother of the deceased, Hunter League, was interviewed by Arizona station ABC15. He stated, among other things, that the 18-year-old could “become a target” because of the expensive watch he took with him to Arizona. In addition, the family of the deceased was to discover “unusual transactions” in Parker’s bank account. “We’ve learned that someone was using his debit card to buy food and also tried to pay an electricity bill with it,” he told the Hunter League.
