The Russians are advancing in the Donetsk Oblast. They did it take over the town of Ocheretyne located north-west of Avdiivka. Footage taken right after the capture of the town appeared online, showing cheering Russian soldiers.
On Monday morning, the General Staff of the Armed Forces Ukrainy reported on social media that over the past 24 hours, over 100 towns in several districts were under artillery fire. As it was also reported, in the Avdiyiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attacks, including: in the area of Ocheretyne.

In February Ukrainian soldiers withdrew from Avdiivka, as reported by the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrski. As he explained, the decision was made to “avoid encirclement and protect the lives and health of soldiers.” This city had been the site of the fiercest fighting for months.
However, the Russian army continued its assault west of Avdiivka. At the end of February, their offensive actions forced Ukrainian troops to withdraw from the village of Łastochkine.
The dedication of the town was then confirmed by Dmytro Lichowyj. The spokesman for OSZW “Tawria” emphasized that The Ukrainians are fighting fiercely to defend the remaining towns located west of Avdiivka.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also announced the occupation of the village of Łastoczkino in an official statement. At the same time, representatives of the Russian army emphasized that the occupied town was particularly important for the Ukrainians due to the possibility of supplying their units there.
