The weather forecast for the next few days shows more sleet and snow, but there are big changes on the horizon. From the weekend, increasingly warmer air will flow into Poland, which will begin a thaw.
The weather in Poland over the next 24 hours will be shaped by a shallow bay of low pressure with a zone of disappearing atmospheric front, which will slowly move from the west to the east of the country. Behind it, a slightly warmer mass of polar maritime air will flow from the Atlantic Ocean – informs tvnmeto.pl forecaster Damian Zdonek.
On Thursday, it will be cloudy in the center and east of the country with fog and light snowfall, with 1 to 5 centimeters falling. In western Poland, the day is generally expected to be without precipitation, but it cannot be ruled out that there will be freezing rain locally, which will cause black ice, especially in the morning and evening. The maximum temperature will range from -3 and -2 degrees Celsius in the Suwałki region to 0-1 degrees C in Western Pomerania. In most of the country, the wind will blow from the east, weak and moderate, only in the western regions it will be variable and weak.

– In the following days, initially due to the extensive high pressure over Russia, and then from Saturday due to subsequent low pressure systems and atmospheric fronts, cloudy weather with snowfall, sleet and rain will dominate, the forecaster announces. As he adds, “in many parts of the country there will be freezing precipitation causing black ice, which will be the result of the inflow of warm and moist air over the significantly cooled ground.”
Friday will be cloudy with local showers. The thermometers will show a maximum of -5 degrees C in the east, through -2 degrees C in the center of the country to 1 degree C in the west. The wind will be east, light and moderate.

The maximum temperature will reach from -4 degrees C in the Suwałki region, through -1 degrees C in central Poland, to 1 degree C in the west. The wind will blow from the south-east and south, with light and moderate winds.
Cloudy weather is also forecast for Sunday. There will be snow and sleet in the eastern half of the country and in the center, and rain in the west. Locally, the precipitation will turn out to be freezing. Thermometers will show a maximum of -3 degrees C in the Suwałki region to 3-4 degrees C in the west of the country. The wind in most of the country will be south-eastern and moderate, and in the west it will blow from the west, with quite strong gusts.

Monday is expected to be cloudy throughout Poland with rain and wet snow. The maximum temperature will range from 0 degrees C in the Suwałki region to 6 degrees C in the west. There will be moderate to quite strong winds from the west and south-west.
