Zagórna. 30-year-old man found dead in chemical room

The prosecutor’s office is investigating the circumstances of the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found in a room with chemicals rented from the Volunteer Fire Department in Zagórna (Wielkopolska). The deceased was engaged in cleaning carpets and upholstery.

Maciej Meler, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ostrów Wielkopolski, informed that the body was found by the partner of the 30-year-old. The woman came for the man because she could not reach his cell phone. It was she who called the police.

The press officer of the Kalisz police, St. Asp. Anna Jaworska-Wojnicz said that the emergency services were notified of the incident on Tuesday after 23. – It was reported that in the village of Zagórna in the commune of Brzeziny, a man’s body was found in a room with chemicals – she said.

Body for autopsy, samples for testing

On Wednesday, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Kalisz launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and cause of the man’s death, prosecutor Meler said. For this purpose, the body was secured for autopsy, while samples of chemical substances were sent for testing.

Mayor Ewa Nowak told PAP that two weeks earlier the man had sublet a room for his activities from the Volunteer Fire Brigade in the fire station.

“He said he didn’t know how long he’d stay because he didn’t know if he’d be in business.” So he rented the room for three months. He kept cleaning agents there – said the mayor, who, as the treasurer of the local fire brigade, dealt with the settlements for renting the premises.

The man commuted to work from the Sieradz poviat in Łódzkie.
