The Social Insurance Institution warns against fraudsters who propose to complete the formalities related to the so-called thirteenth pension. “We will pay this benefit automatically, you do not need to submit any letter to ZUS” – emphasizes ZUS spokesman Paweł Żebrowski.
ZUS in the message, he points out that the appeal for prudence is justified, because pseudo-services, e.g. “for a ZUS employee”, may result in extortion of cash, ID card data or bank account number. A pretext for unfair practices may be the date of payment of the so-called 13. pension.
– ZUS employees do not visit pensioners and other people at home and do not offer paid services. Unfortunately, it still happens that people impersonating ZUS employees offer a quick settlement of formalities – indicates Żebrowski.
Warning signal
As he adds, the offer of assistance in completing the application, the request for personal or banking data should be a warning signal. If the identity of such a person raises doubts, it is best to notify the police and the nearest ZUS office.
“ZUS representatives do not visit customers at home or at work. The exception is usage checks sick leaves and inspection inspectors’ visits to contribution payers. During such visits, a ZUS employee must present a business card or inform about such a visit in advance. We also do not charge any fees and do not demand any financial gratifications.
Thirteenth pension. Payment deadlines
The so-called thirteenth pension will go to a total of around 3.5 million seniors before Easter. ZUS pays thirteen automatically together with the April retirement or disability pension. Payments will be made after Christmas.
The thirteenth pension payment schedule is: April 1 (Payment March 31), April 5, April 6, April 10, April 15, April 20, April 25. The thirteenth old-age pension is due in the amount of the lowest old-age pension applicable from 1 March of a given year. In 2023, it is PLN 1,588.44 gross.
